Friday Random Top 10 – September 18th

This is my last Top 10 before I’m done with my paper.  ‘m meeting with Anne this afternoon to go over my spankin’ new Introduction v2.0.  I’ll work the changes from Intro 2.0 into the rest of the paper over the weekend, then meet with Micheál on Monday for any last minute ideas.  I should have it back from the printers on Wednesday to turn in.  Then off to Prague at the crack of dawn on Thursday.  Look for a download on Wednesday night for those who want to read my paper.  Once it’s turned in I can share with everyone.  Music after the jump. Friday Random Top 10 – August 14th

I’m at college today in the reading room, so this is the first ever installment gleaned from my iPod instead of my iTunes library. That also means I’m probably not going to be able to cross-post as I usually do. No offense intended if you don’t get my list this week. My internet at home is out, and I should really be getting back to work.

  1. Kings of Leon – “Charmer” Because of the Times
  2. Rage Against the Machine – “Calm Like A Bomb” Battle of Los Angeles
  3. Finger Eleven – “First Time” The Greyest of Blue Skies
  4. Johnny Cash – “Hung My Head” American IV
  5. Josh Davis Band – “Home” The White Whale
  6. Mitch Hedberg – “Houses” Mitch All Together
  7. Lupe Fiasco – “Little Weapon” The Cool
  8. Jimmy Eat World – “Polaris” Futures
  9. Shinedown – “In Memory” Leave A Whisper
  10. Lenny Kravitz – “Heaven Help” Greatest Hits

And we have the return of comedy albums.    I really don’t know why I still have the Lenny Kravitz album on my computer.  I don’t really like him much anymore.

Friday Random Top 10 – June 5th

Irish Elections edition! There’s actually a decent chance I’m going to be in for the night tonight and watch the election results. John’s birthday party is tomorrow night, so I think I’m going to skip going out tonight. I don’t know what election music would entail, but let’s see if any pops up.

Friday Random Top 10 – April 17th

I know I’ve been pretty lazy in updating my site. I’ve go no real excuse rather than I’m just being lazy. Next week I’ll get you updates, promise.

  1. John Mellencamp – “Crumblin’ Down” The Best That I Could Do
  2. Shinedown – “Save Me” (Acoustic Version) Shinedown EP
  3. Old 97s – “What We Talked About”  Fight Songs
  4. Saliva – “Broken Sunday” Blood Stained Love Story
  5. The Hold Steady  – “You Can Make Him Like You” Boys and Girls in America
  6. Jack Johnson – “Traffic In The Sky” On & On
  7. Josh Davis Band – “Evergreen Lullaby” Bluebird
  8. Avenged Sevenfold – “Brompton Cocktail” Avenged Sevenfold
  9. Chevelle – “Until You’re Reformed”  Daredevil Soundtrack
  10. Rage Against the Machine – “Wind Below” Evil Empire

The list started out pretty mellow with Old 97s, Jack Johnson and the Hold Steady and got progressively more aggressive at the last 3.  It was nice to see some of the JBD.  “Evergreen Lullaby” is off the same album as “Jerk” as featured on Music Video Sunday. And, hey, no comedy this week.

Friday Random Top 10 – March 27th

CRAP.  Evidentally, WordPress lost all the text of my post.  Luckily, I have a freaky memory.  That combined with the fact I obsessively tag each band that is on the list should allow me to recreate  my list fairly well.

  1. Shinedown – “Break” Shinedown EP
  2. 50 Cent – “Gotta Make It To Heaven” Get Rich or Die Tryin’
  3. Patton Oswald – “Here We Go” Werewolves and Lollipops
  4. Old 97s – “King Of All The World” Satellite Rides
  5. The Nadas – “Feel Better” Transceiver
  6. Jay-Z – “IZZO (H.O.V.A.)” The Blueprint
  7. Dick Prall – “If It Bends” Weightless
  8. Shinedown – “Trade Yourself In” Us and Them
  9. The Ramones – “Pinhead” Ramones Mania
  10. Flogging Molly – “Requiem For A Dying Song” Float

I am 100% these are the songs, and I’m also sure numbers 1-5 & 10 are in the correct spots.  Spots 6-9 I’m about 85% sure on.  Now don’t you feel silly for laughing at me because my closet is in color-order?

Friday Random Top 10 – March 13th

Another Friday the 13th.  Let’s see if anything ominous comes up.

  1. Steve Miller Band – “Rockin’ Me” Young Hearts
  2. Korn – “Twisted Transistor” See You On The Other Side
  3. Lupe Fiasco – “Dumb It Down” The Cool
  4. The Pogues – “A Rainy Night In SoHo” The Very Best of The Pogues

  8. Lenny Kravitz – “Can’t Get You Off My Mind” Greatest Hits
  9. Hinder – “Homecoming Queen” Extreme Behavior
  10. Fleet Foxes – “White Winter Hymnal” Fleet Foxes

I just got the Fleet Foxes self-titled debut album* on Wednesday, so it’s good to see the new guys getting in on the action.  I can’t believe I still have Pure Funk.  I bought that in 8th grade because it had “KungFu Fighting” on it.

* I always wanted a band called “Self Titled Debut Album”  so what when we put out our first album it would be Self-Titled Debut Album’s self-titled debut album “Self-Titled Debut Album”
